Today's earthquake was awesome!!

This was my first earthquake and it rocked! :D Our building bounced and swayed a bit and, once I realized what was going on, I loved it! That had to be the coolest thing ever! I have never felt anything like that before. It's one thing to have heard about how the earth can shake, rattle, and roll like it does in California but to do it here in Nowheresville was wild! My mom even swears she heard the earthquake! wow. crazy week so far. Now to see if we can avoid Irene out there! :D

My brother was in the Pentagon when it hit and I was scared shitless until I got a text telling me he was okay. Not so much fun when loved ones are at risk and you're waiting to know if they're safe. We felt it in Georgia--bad enough when we're gearing up for the hurricane

wow. Really? I bet if I was closer to the epicenter like he was I'd be freaked out too. Gentle swaying and bouncing like we got is nothing compared to the bomb blast feel they got. The funny part of the whole thing was that somebody in our building freaked and pulled the fire alarm of all things! We had to evacuate the whole building and stand around in the hot sun till the powers that be (i.e. management) declared it safe to go back in. I wonder how many false alarms like that the fire department responded to.

I really hope Irene just keeps right on rollin' east. The Outer Banks will be washed away completely if a Cat 3 (or 4!) hits them. :(

I hope not and since I haven't heard anything about any casualties one can only hope everybody made it OK. As for me and mine, it was awesome! :D
