Ah ha, sorry. I did a Google search and you can read more about it here. In my country (Vietnam), June 1 is the day to memorize the attack of Nazi German enemy. In June 1942 the Nazi German attacked on two Czechoslovakia's villages that killed a lot of child and women. January 1949, Russia (as well as other former Soviet Union states) chose Jun 1 to celebrate Children's Day. In Vietnam on that day, parents give presents for their children, and a lot of interesting activities were held just for them: Drawing competition, miniature sport competition...or free entrance for chidren in someplace like zoos, amusement parks...that sort of thing. But children still have to go to school like every normal days, their parents have to go to work like every normal days - that is the worst thing of this day.
I have to say this: If I have grammar mistakes please forgive me. This is the first time I explain something about history in English to someone (I'm not good at neither History nor English), but I did try my best >_< *I hope you can understand what I wrote*
