amethyst_koneko: (Ed - so sad)

...and my heart is breaking. T_T Just read this post - http://community.livejournal.com/fm_alchemist/6820626.html - and damn I'm depressed right now. ;_; It's ending people! Can you believe it?? Soon there will be no more new manga, no more new anime. Soon the fandom will go quiet and people will start to drift away. Sure there will be a great deal of , well, I can't even begin to imagine what will happen when the last episode airs but all too soon all that excitement will fade. It just seems so hard to believe it's over. *sigh* I didn't think I was living in quite this much denial but reality has a way of biting you in the ass really hard when you're not looking. Sundays (or Mondays or Tuesdays depending on when the subs come out) just won't be the same without FMA to look forward to anymore. FMA has been in here *points to heart* for so long that I can't imagine it not being there. Now, I don't plan to ever leave the fandom for a very long time. I'm as tenacious as a terrier when it comes to something near and dear to my heart but even so, it just won't be the same when one day I look around and realize that the story has been told and whatever I have (mangas, DVDs, etc) is all there is ever going to be. *wibbles* Excuse me. If anybody needs me, I'll be in a corner clinging desperately to cuddling my plushies. Guide me, Eyepatch Roy! ^_^

I think I am emotionally detached from this since the first anime is still pretty much my one and only, and THAT ended long ago. But I'm sorry, nevertheless. *hugs*

I *sooo* know what you mean T_T I may be relatively new to fma compared to some others, but still... *sighs* I don't want it to end! T_T But I also know that series that don't end at the best possible point have the habit to become boring... and I think that would be even worse >.< Can you imagine fma just being one of 'those' series? ^^;; I think that would kill me even more ^^;;
I just hope that fma as a fandom will be as awesome as Gundam... so that even fifteen years after it aired there will still be new fans and lots of fandom *crosses fingers* It certainly does more than deserve it *sighs*

How would you ever get the idea I meant either of those two or similar series? >.> *looks innocent* But yeah, I actually do. Nothing worse imo than rambling on forever without a point behind it anymore. That's just cheapening the series. And for that to happen to fma... I don't even want to imagine it >.<

I'm pretty sure there will be lots of fics for a lot of time to come (though I agree with some fics that will hopefully still get finished >.< *doesn't like unfinished ff's at ALL* >.<). At the very least I can promise you that I won't vanish from the fandom anytime soon :P XD

Oh, dear...:(.
Well, any series has to end sooner or later, right? It just reminds me of Anne Rice's The Vampire Chronicles, which had been on-going for about...30 years, I think, until the publication of its last installment.
I'd known of FMA through [livejournal.com profile] blushingsigh because she used to read the manga. Then in 2006, my interest was peaked after watching an episode on Animax and I became obsessed with it soon after. It'll be sad to see the characters go because let's face it, the series is totally awesome and well-researched. I just hope Arakawa gives us a proper and satisfactory ending :).

Although it may come to an end I've invested oh 7 plus years of my life into this ... it will never end as long as we, the true fans, keep it alive ^_^ ...

There will be scabs needing picking for a long time still, I'm sure. *said with a nervous voice thinking of what the cow has in store for us* A meager comfort, I know, but... *wipes tears and snot with an imaginary armored Al-plushie*
Bloody winged: "Can you imagine fma just being one of 'those' series?" - o_O That was evil.

The conclusion of the manga will be bittersweet. Love and loss and all that stuff...

Maybe, but still true ^^;; FMA is too awesome to have that happening to it

Lol, yes I know exactly what kind of series you refer to, and the thought of FMA do diffuse into something like that made me cringe. Please pardon my joke. :)

That said, let us not forget that the cow quite happily ran Ed thru with a steel beam back in Briggs so I don't have total faith that the cow will give all our heroes happy endings. - that's exactly what I fear too >.< I'm actually easier to appease - as long as they'll survive I'll be happy^^;; I actually only want Roy's eyesight to get restored if there is a good way behind it to do it. Because what I hate even more than senseless plot is stuff that's done simply to make fans happy without it making any sense what-so-ever. So... as long as they'll all survive I'll be happy ^___^ (Ok, and I don't want to see an ending where Ed goes off with Winry -.- That would totally ruin it for me, even though I fear it will happen *sighs* I think I would even prefer him dead over that ^^;; (me, hating that idea much? nah... >.>) They simply... don't belong together >.< Nor can I see him going back to the simple life in Rizembool after all he went through. It's just not how I see Ed *sighs* At least if he would die we could all doe the denial-act and pretend it never happened >.> But him being with Winry? That's more than just a simple lapse in sanity >.<)

Exactly! That's one of Criss and my on-going debates. He still thinks they are perfect for each other >.< *gags* But really, even *IF* they would 'enjoy each other's company' (would they really? >.> XD) for a while, it would never work out for the long-term. Do you know the ff 'Defying Murphy's Law' by metisket?(if not, read it, it's hilarious XD) I think that ff nailed it down perfectly - maybe they would try it for a bit, but it would never work out. And they make great friends. I don't have anything against Winry - she is a well developed character and as a friend balances Ed perfectly - but only as a friend or sister-like. Also, I agree... Ed would bore to death staying there. What would he do all the time? Reading? Even *he* would tire of that sooner or later. Not to forget, even *IF* Arakawa plans for Ed to stay with Winry, Al would stay with them also. And that CAN'T work out well. No way would Ed go live without Al (at least for the first few years) and Al wouldn't want to intrude on them, I'm quite certain of that. So again, point against them being together XD

I really would love for him to see again too, though I confess to having a certain fascination with him being blind ^^;; (Prolly due to that thrice-damned Big Bang fic that I wrote XD) I doubt he will only get his eyesight on one eye back though - either both or neither. While he looks hot with that eyepatch, it doesn't fit the current story. The only way I can imagine THAT fitting in would be him getting his eyesight back and father hurting one of his eyes (or it getting damaged by all the shoving around he has to endure right now ^^;; poor roy XD)

Scenario: Ed living with Winry in Risembool
Ed would go out helping people and ruin his automail in the process. Winry would scald him and fix it. Ed would go out helping people...
It would be an eternal cycle of helping and getting scalded for it. Not what Ed deserves.
