I am now in possession of the last volume of the deluxe complete editions of the Fullmetal Alchemist manga. I am happy to have it and yet sad to know that this really truly is the end of FMA. That's all there is; there is no more. :(
You mean Viz re-released the final volumes? I never heard of any deluxe editions although they are re-releasing the series in Omnibus editions with 3 volumes of chapters in one book. I thought VIZ released, what, 27 volumes? I have the whole series. How are these different? (and in the above picture--notice Ed doesn't have the mature look? He looks about 15 again, not with the more defined jawline and thinner cheeks like after his self-transmutation (and my icon)
No, Viz has nothing to do with this. Viz only has the original 27 volumes and the 3 omnibuses(?). (Do you think they'll ever get around to releasing the remaining 6?) These are Japanese volumes of the manga. Each is about a manga and a half in size, meaning 6 chapters per book instead of the usual 4, and has pretty colored artwork inside. I bought the first volume on a whim (along with the Chronicle book) a while ago at CD Japan and just sorta kept rolling with it. :) I don't know why they made Ed look so young again on the last cover here. :/ Young Ed is cute a button but his older version is meow! Hottie! ^_^ Love your icon btw. I can has original fanart pleez? :)
Believe it or not--that's not fanart--that's COW. That's an illo from the 2010 Japanese callendar, which I have not flipped over nor taken down since I got it. That was Cow's best image of Ed EVER.
